Westar Moving & Storage, Inc. of Houston, Texas has joined The Wheaton Group as the newest Wheaton agent. The company is owned and operated by Howell, Betty and Traci McCullah and has been in business since 1997.
The Westar team brings decades of industry experience to the agent network. Traci McCullah has been very involved in Texas-based industry organizations, including past tenures as chairwoman of the Southwest Movers Association and president of the Houston Movers Association.

Marsha Davis Joins The Wheaton Group Executive Team
Marsha Davis has been promoted to Vice President, Revenue Accounting. Marsha began her career in the moving and storage industry in 1981 at Mayflower, where she started in the Collections Department as a Collections Analyst, transferring to accounting within a year. There, Marsha worked as revenue analyst on the national household goods account team and was promoted to manager.
After Marsha spent 16 years with Mayflower, the company was sold to Unigroup and relocated to St. Louis in 1997. Marsha consulted for the Mayflower agency group for several years before she joined Wheaton as a Revenue Accounting manager in 2000 and was promoted to director in 2012.
The Wheaton Group Purchases Arpin Van Lines
Wheaton has acquired Arpin Van Lines to immediately expand The Wheaton Group network. The new partnership will allow all five brands under The Wheaton Group umbrella to better serve customers across the country with increased capacity.
Arpin Van Lines had been headquartered in West Warwick, Rhode Island for 120 years after being started by the Arpin family, who will continue to run family-owned agents under Arpin Van Lines as part of The Wheaton Group. Arpin's other divisions, including Arpin International Group, will continue under Arpin Group, Inc. with no affiliation to The Wheaton Group.
The deal is the group's second acquisition in just over a year, as it acquired Stevens Worldwide Van Lines in February 2019. The acquisition makes Wheaton the fourth largest van line in the country.
The Wheaton Group Receives Margit Novak Award from NASMM
The van line was the 2020 recipient of the Margit Novak Award for Excellence in Senior Move Management, an award given by the National Association of Senior Move Managers (NASMM).
The award was announced during NASMM’s national conference in Houston in March.
“This is the first time NASMM has given the award to an association partner as opposed to a regular member of the association,” said Jennifer Pickett, NASMM’s executive director. “When we looked at the contributions that The Wheaton Group has made to NASMM over the past decade, it was an obvious choice, and we’re excited about our continued partnership.”
The Wheaton Group provides educational and financial support to NASMM and serves as a resource for information about the household goods moving components of life transitions for older adults.
Golden Rule Relocation Joins The Wheaton Group
Established in 2019, Golden Rule Relocation joined The Wheaton Group as a Bekins agent to expand their business opportunities. Owners Geff Moyer and Matt Thrasher have decades of experience in the moving and storage industry. Matt was born into the industry as the grandson of Carl Seaton (Seaton Van Lines in Kansas City), and Geff got his start in the industry right out of college, sticking with it the past 27 years. The company is based in North Kansas City, Mo.
